By Air -Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel International Airport is the major one that serves two cities Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Sabarmati Ashram


Located on the banks of river Sabarmati, Sabarmati Ashram was the residence of Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi during the days of struggle for freedom. This famous Ashram marked the beginning of many famous movements like Dandi March. In current days, it is a museum of belongings of the Late Mahatma Gandhi that attracts many tourists every year. This is one of the most tourist attractions in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It must be on your list.

Adalaj Stepwell


Situated in the village of Adalaj in Ahmedabad, Adalaj stepwell is a stepwell that is in the memory of Rana Veer Singh by his queen. If you are a lover of art and architecture, then you must visit this amazing place to explore its stunning beauty. It holds a great history that you should know about. Your guide will better explore the history of this place. Built-in sandstone in the Solanki architectural style, the Adalaj stepwell is five stories deep. It is octagonal in a plan at the top, constructed on a complexly engraved large number of pillars. Each floor is expansive enough to deliver for people to congregate.

Swaminarayan Temple


Located in the Kalupur area of Ahmedabad, Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kalupur is the first Temple of the Swaminarayan Sampraday, a Hindu sect. It was constructed on the orders of Swaminarayan, the founder of the sect. The administration of the Swaminarayan Sampraday is divided into two Gadis (seats) – NarNarayan DevGadi and Laxmi Narayan Dev Gadi according to the will of Swaminarayan. This Temple is the headquarters of the Nar Narayan Dev Gadi. Swaminarayan is a faith centre for many.

Dada Hari Vav


This major tourist attraction in the city is widely known for its religious and architectural richness. Dada Harini Vav has 7storeys, each one similarly splendid in its magnificence. It is noticeable by complexly carved walls, columns, and pillars and the stepwell looks superb during the daytime. It is octagonal and an astounding sight to look down from the top storey of the stairwell. The architectural approach of this vav is a mixture of both Muslim and Hindu styles. You will also find Arabic and Sanskrit scriptures on the walls along with floral motifs and traditional carvings. One must add it to Ahmedabad one-day tour. Dada Hari Vav being a stepwell is a fine architectural work. It is a 500 year old vav, constructed during the reign of Sultan Mahmud Begada. It was constructed by Bai Harir Sultani, who was the superintendent of the Royal Harem and the household lady of Mahmud Begada.

Kankaria Lake


Positioned in the southeastern part of the city, in the Mani Nagar area, Kankaria Lake is the second-largest lake in Ahmedabad. It was made in 1451 during the reign of Sultan Qutb-ud-Din Ahmad Shah II. This lake consists of an island that includes Nagina Wadi, which is a garden, right in the middle of it. It is a beautiful tourist spot. The garden further entails a summer palace that goes by the name of Ghata Mandal. A bridge of 48 arches long connects with the bank. It is a splendid piece of the Mughal era and it is also known as the center jewel of the lake. The lakefront around it is the most beautiful public attraction that includes a zoo, toy train, kids’ city, tethered balloon ride, water rides, Water Park, food stalls, and entertainment facilities. Kankaria Carnival is a week-long festival held here in the last week of December. Many cultural, art, and social activities are planned during the carnival.
